Application Process

Applying to college in the US includes the following steps:

  • Collect transcripts (9th, 10th, 11th)
  • Create a Resume (biographical note)
  • Prepare for and take a language proficiency test  (TOEFL, IELTS or DUOLINGO)
  • Prepare for and take standardized tests (SAT, ACT) - optional
  • Determine (with parents) estimated annual financial contribution
  • Make a college list (with your counselor) of 10 safety, possible, and reach schools
  • Write a personal statement
  • Write any other required supplement essays
  • Ask for two teacher recommendations
  • Fill out and submit Common Application and/or school applications
  • Collect financial aid materials: parent tax returns and bank letters (to be translated)
  • Fill out and submit all financial aid documents (CSS, ISFAA, FAFSA, ISCFA)
  • Make a decision!
