DESCRIPTION

Two classes will be taught in this program (detailed description of the classes will be available soon): 
1.  Engineering beyond Boundaries:  Creating Digital Design Experiences through Simulation and Virtual Reality
2.  Near-Space Exploration:  Solar Eclipse high-altitude balooning lectures & projects including a tethered baloon launch
The program is full of classes, activities and field trips on the weekends, one of which will be in Niagara Falls.
Purpose To introduce high-school students to STEM topics through experiential learning
activities in a university environment.

Program Objectives
• Introduce and engage students in Near Space
Exploration
• Learn more about water, water quality, and water
analysis through hands-on activities.
• Intro to Engineering and Bio engineering
• Learn about motion capture
• Become acquainted with the US culture and
academic culture through classroom and community
interactions.

Program Description
This two-weeks intensive program will introduce and engage students in near space exploration,
engineering and bioengineering, water quality, and motion animation. Guided by expert
professors and supported by teaching assistants and camp staff, the participants will learn
through academic lectures and experiential activities. When not in a classroom, a lab, or in the
field, participants will explore the Erie community and surroundings through trips to Lake Erie,
northeastern PA countryside, and venture to the famous Niagara Falls.
